Elsie's Table
Fresh, familiar, and lovingly served.
Our story
Elsie's Table was inspired by my grandmother, Elsie, whose table was a haven of love, comfort, and connection. Her modest kitchen was more than just a place to cook - it was where family, friends, and even strangers gathered to share stories, laughter, and warmth over a good meal.
At Elsie's Table, we strive to capture that same spirit of belonging. Our goal is to create a place where everyone feels welcome and where every guest experiences a sense of home away from home. Through fresh, locally sourced ingredients and global culinary influences, we bring people together to celebrate the joy of food, conversation, and community.
Family and tradition are at the heart of everything we do, and even our bar tells a story. It was built from church pews originally from St. Agatha's Church. In the 1970s, when the church was renovating, my mother - one of eight children raised by my grandmother Elsie - rescued eight of the pews and stored them in our garage in Canton for most of my life. Shortly before she passed away in 2021, I gave the pews to my brother-in-law, a finish carpenter.
When I purchased this space in 2023 and began renovating, I called him to see if he still had them - and he did. He transformed those very pews into the bar and the grey trim throughout Elsie's Table, weaving a piece of our family history into the heart of the restaurant. That same spirit continues through our Local Family Recipe Program, where guests submit cherished family recipes and our kitchen recreates them as authentically as possible. Families can then gather at Elsie's to enjoy a nostalgic meal together - just like my grandmother did every day at her table with her eight children, their friends, and extended family.
We also invite you to become part of our story. Share your local family recipe with us online, and if it's chosen, it could become our Family Recipe of the Month, featured on our menu for everyone to enjoy.
Because at Elsie's Table, every great dish begins with family - and every family has a story worth sharing.
